A BIT ABOUT ME

Firstly, may I thank you for doing what you’re presently doing. The book was created at the suggestion of my number one best friend, Liza (see acknowledgements). Many years after Liza’s first suggestion that I write the book, Covid-19 reared its ugly head and here we are.

               If you want to read a bit about me, then read on as it might prove to be a useful backdrop to who I am and what I did. Many people who see celebrities only meet them for a few seconds. Maybe open a door for them, serve them food, take their coat, espy them from a distance, stuff like that. Some people get excited just seeing a celebrity, let alone talk with one. I was in a very different position. Please allow me to explain.

               I spent many years of my life as a senior chauffeur working exclusively for a limousine company that had (and maybe still has) about 95% of all the major entertainment related business in its part of the planet. I was in many, many situations where a reporter could only have dreamt about being in. I saw a side of some celebrities that few got to see, even family members. It certainly wasn’t a case of simply driving between A to B. It was also and most definitely, NOT GOSSIP.

               I spent those years chauffeuring countless high-profile celebrities, mostly singers and all A-listers, to their concerts and other places. Most of the time, it was routine, but things didn’t always go as planned. The book is about some of those times.

               I believe in ultra-strict patient confidentiality. In the book, I have only named two factual artists. One was a client and strictly speaking, I only wrote his nickname and only because he said that it was OK for me to do so. The second name was written as my mother told me about that incident. It happened a long time before I started driving limos and I had nothing to do with it.

               I have also included what might be the world’s first ever bookmarks (I stand to be corrected) that are actually part of a book. Admittedly, they’re not very sturdy, as naturally enough, they’re paper thin. But I figured that some of you might find them useful, so I thought, why not? They’re located at the very end of the book and also on this website.
